First 2: This Vinage/Modern textured look was achieved using bubble wrap! A "happy accident" that occurred during a particularly windy day at the studio. Speciality paint/washes were applied to enhance the depth and texture.
Second: 2 Alcoves or "Art Niches" in the same home. Instead of having to force just the right sized artwork into an art niche, why not make the niche itself the art? Designs can be considered to be the main focal event or simply a beautiful backdrop to display an 3D object from your collection.
Full of interesting texture from floor to ceiling there is nothing flat about this custom 4 wall faux finish design adapted from one of my 2D Fine Art pieces their neighbor has.
I say make the art niches art themselves. Benefits are many but my favorite are no forcing a specific size of artwork into it, or having to leave it empty for months (years?) while you find just the right thing. Contact me for a consult

Hand painted with amazing variated texture, this sand dollar was applied on a wall inside an art niche, but would look amazing as a focal point for any wall, indoors or out.
Tons of texture! Nothing flat about it.
I used a special mosaic crackle material and then sealed in it in epoxy resin to protect it.
Hard to spot from the photo, but the center star design is deeply carved into applied venetian plaster creating depth.
